Patience

Hebrews 12:1, 2(KJV) - Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Patience: The ability to idle your motor when you feel like stripping your gears.

Give God Time

The late Dr. Jowett said that he was once in a most pitiful perplexity, and consulted Dr. Berry, of Wolverhampton. "What would you do if you were in my place?" he entreated. "I don't know, Jowett. I am not there, and you are not there yet. When have you to act?" "On Friday," Dr. Jowett replied. "Then," answered Berry, "you will find your way perfectly clear on Friday. The Lord will not fail you." And surely enough, on Friday all was plain.

One of the greatest and wisest of all Queen Victoria's diplomats has left it on record that it became an inveterate habit of his mind never to allow any opinion on any subject to crystallize until it became necessary to arrive at a practical decision.

Give God time, and even when the knife flashes in the air, the ram will be seen caught in the thicket.

Give God time, and even when Pharaoh's host is on Israel's heels, a path through the waters will be suddenly opened.

Give God time, and when the bed of the brook is dry, Elijah shall hear the guiding voice.—The Alliance Weekly.

This was not intentional, but what a great week for me to send out the trait of the week on Friday rather than Monday.  I know all of you have been “patiently” waiting

for it. J Actually, I forgot on Tuesday morning and then was gone the last two days for the Middle School retreats.

God has set a race before each of us to run, and Christ is our example of how to run.  There are three key parts to how we are to run according to Hebrews 12: 1, 2.

  1. Get rid of the things in our lives that hinder us in the race that has been laid out before us.
  2. Run with patient endurance.
  3. Run and endure because of the promise of the prize that lays on the other side of the race.  Christ endured because He knew that what would come afterward would be worth what was to be endured.

I pray you have a great day in Christ and time of refreshing as you spend time in His presence this weekend.

Have a Fabulous Friday!
